A Refuge offers a distinct Intensive Outpatient Program for women experiencing addiction related disorders or eating disorders which may co-exist with other mental health disorders. In addition to meeting the clinical criteria for admission, a patient must be medically stable and demonstrate an ability to abstain from all mood altering substances and behaviors. Further, in recognition of treatment compliance, each patient must sign a treatment contract and individual treatment plan.
Meeting only three days a week, for three hours of group each day, it is with such required commitment that we are assured each patient possesses the appropriate level of responsiveness and motivation to be successful in our program. With weekly evaluations by the psychiatrist which may include medication management, you can expect individual attention to mood stabilization and symptoms which may be related to post-acute withdrawal syndrome. As important, weekly individual therapy will become the corner stone for addressing internal and external stressors that can become barriers to full recovery if not identified managed or resolved.
For women with eating disorders, individual therapy also includes scheduled meal eating appointments and food diary review. Additional meal support comes weekly from the Registered Dietician who provides attention to the nutritional needs of women as they learn and begin the body restoration process.
